MSI Wind Pad tablet

MSI Wind Pad tabletTaiwan-based MSI recently announced its new Wind Pad, which features a 10in multi-touch control screen and a slim and stylish design.

The device runs on Intel's Atom CPU platform which the company said gives it an eight-hour battery life.

The Wind Pad operates on Microsoft Windows 7 operating system as well as Android and features a host of applications designed to enhance multimedia enjoyment.

It weighs 800g with the battery and comes with built-in 3G and WiFi connectivity, GPS, 1.3-megapixel webcam and an intuitive G-sensor for automatic screen rotation.

It also features MSI's EasyFace 2.0 face identification software that integrates MSN website login account details; and PIN and system login password to provide not only information security protection but also integrates all these data with your facial characteristics, thus saving users the hassle of remembering account and password details.

Other highlights of the device is the Wind Touch user interface that is aimed at simplfying tasks and navigation and the MSI E-Reader app that offers not only static images and text but animation and music.

According to MSI, content can be hyperlinked to the database inventory provided by third party e-book providers.

The MSI Wind Pad will also come equipped with USB ports, an SD card reader and HDMI port. It is expected to be locally available in the fourth quarter.
