
It is possible it has taken a leaf out of Bing's search book. The Microsoft-owned search rival also has a left-hand list of tools to help predict and refine queries. A search for "Paris France", for example, brings up a list of related searches grouped under maps, hotels, pictures, weather, visiting, accommodation and the Eiffel Tower. It is all part of Bing's original promise of anticipating the search steps that users trace when they look for commonly searched terms.
Bing increased its share of the US search market in March while market leader Google slipped a bit, online tracking firm comScore said Friday.
Bing's share of search in the US rose to 11.7 per cent in March from 11.5 per cent in February, the 10th straight month of gains, according to online tracking firm comScore.
Microsoft's search partner Yahoo! has 16.9 per cent of the market, while Google remains the overwhelming leader of the lucrative US search and advertising market although its market share fell slightly in March, to 65.1 percent from 65.5 percent in February.
The competitors have been focused on improving mobile search offerings and incorporating real-time content from popular online communities such as Twitter and Facebook into search results. Read also How to get listed in search engines faster
Goggle has also updated its logo slightly, dropping shadows and enhancing colours. The changes weren't yet visible to all Malaysian users at time of writing.
